Why 2018 Totally Rocked at Cloud Giants

The new year is here and we’re feeling it’s promise. With a move to a new office in Frontier 600 scheduled (in just a few short weeks!) and a new team member starting (in just a couple short days!), there’s already a lot to look forward to in 2019.

It also seems like a good time to look back at all that 2018 had in store for the Cloud Giants team. From new team members to new projects with partners who’ve been there since the beginning, we feel fortunate to do the work that we do with the people who make it fulfilling and fun.

So without further ado, here are just some of the highlights of a memorable year for our team straight from them.

My highlight of 2018 was strengthening my knowledge of Salesforce and learning new skills. I obtained my Salesforce Admin certification. I gained more experience using visual flow and configuring CPQ.

I also learned how to build and deploy apps using SFDX. With what I learned relating to Salesforce, I have also become more comfortable with the Command Line Interface and Git.

I look forward to learning more in 2019 and continuing to deliver awesome solutions with CG team!

It's really hard to distill my 2018 highlight into a single moment. I love this time of reflection at the end of the year and beginning of a new one — looking back at where we've been, where we started, and where we hope to go. I'm about to celebrate 5 years of freedom from a traditional career journey to starting and growing a business. 2018 was by far our best year yet.

The best part for me is witnessing our growth — and it's not growth for growth's sake either. I truly enjoy seeing the progress of others, making discoveries, and overcoming challenges together. I also enjoy reviewing my own personal progress. I love that we've become a close knit team with a shared purpose of doing great work and appreciating the process, including the hard times. This is the greatest reward.

I feel so fortunate to get to work with an amazing team here at Cloud Giants. I'm so thankful to all our family members for supporting us as we grow, our customers for putting their success in our hands, and for the dedication of the team. I'm so excited to see what 2019 has in store for us.

This year marks four years with Cloud Giants for me. The journey of a startup is exciting, but that journey at Cloud Giants is indescribable.

We have triumphed through so many challenges, and I've learned so much along the way.

At the beginning of last year, we were moving into our current office. We'll start 2019 by moving to another bigger office with more people.

The growth, along with continuing to keep our company culture, is undoubtedly my favorite part of 2018!

2018 was a year full of growth, both on a professional level and a personal level. For me, being involved in that growth is a personal achievement like none other. Being a participant in bringing financial data to the team is huge, as was helping to get benefits in place.

We created an Employee Handbook and we put our first 401(k) offering in place. We're currently adding medical insurance to the benefits.

We're growing the company thoughtfully and deliberately, which is a direct reflection on our founder, Kelly. Without her vision, we wouldn't be in such a wonderful place with such wonderful people doing incredibly amazing work together.

I, too, am looking ahead to 2019 and beyond.

The highlight of my 2018 was implementing Sales Cloud and CPQ for a client from the ground up. It was incredibly exciting and gratifying to be able to let ideal and current-state business policy, rather than technical debt and "this is the way things have always worked,” dictate the Salesforce outcomes we were looking to achieve.

Beyond that, though, it was a perfect example of how well our consulting team can work together, as the entire project required collaboration across the board throughout the entire initiative.

It's rare in a work environment to organically realize you're legitimately having a blast doing your job — partnering with my fellow Cloud Giants on this project was without a doubt one of those times.

2018 has been a year full of progress.

Looking back, my highlight is that we standardized our delivery process around key activities that drive value and consistency while adhering to our keep it simple core value.

This change enables us to scale and keep a pulse across our growing base of customers.

The highlight of 2018 for me was definitely joining the Cloud Giants team in early December! I feel so grateful for the team's support, enthusiasm, and genuine care for me as I embark on this next chapter of my journey.

It's such a joy to be part of an organization that fuels and values my professional and personal goals. I love learning something new every day!

To say that I am lucky to have joined this amazing group of people feels like a gross understatement.

I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up 2018, and I can't wait to see what 2019 brings!
